Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q)

You may also want to read the EmailXT FAQ.

Is infinityXT free?

Yes, InfinityXT is absolutely free, with no time limitations. You can, however, buy an activation code that will unleash additional software capabilities. For a list of premium features, check here.

It says here InfinityXT is compatible with EmailXT. What's EmailXT?

EmailXT is a new email protocol that completely eliminates bulk spam, viruses and phishing attempts, and adds new features to email like encryption, compression, tasks, calendars, forms, photo albums and much more. To know more about EmailXT, click here.

I want to try InfinityXT. What should I do?

It's easy to deploy InfinityXT. Go to the download page and download it to your computer. Then execute the installer. After installation, run InfinityXT and answer the setup questions. At this point you are already a part of the EmailXT network. We advise you to follow the InfinityXT demonstration and test script so that you can easily understand and use the basic InfinityXT's features.

How come you say I am now a part of the EmailXT network, if I haven't done anything yet?

Being part of the EmailXT network means having a compliant application installed and configured for use with the EmailXT protocol. At that point you are ready to correspond with other "EmailXT'ers" through the already established email server network. Since EmailXT is a superset of the old-system email, all the current email servers in the world are compatible and will relay your EmailXT messages.

Can I read all my email with InfinityXT?

InfinityXT is an EmailXT-compliant application, meaning it is compatible and can send and receive EmailXT messages. It can't, however, read old-system email. The old-system is plagued with spam, scams and viruses and the best thing is to stay away from it. You should use your old email client to read old-system email.

I've installed InfinityXT, but I am not getting any email. What is happening?

If you switched to EmailXT using an already existing email address, several things may be happening:
- Your friends are sending old-system messages to your EmailXT mailbox. In this case, you can use your old email client to read your old-system emails. Read more about this here. Or, you can just switch on the Auto-Invitation feature of InfinityXT to automatically send an invitation message to your correspondents asking them to switch to EmailXT.
- Your friends don't know about EmailXT or don't know your address. In these cases, use the Invite feature of InfinityXT to send an invitation to join the EmailXT network directly to your friend's old-system email reader.

I've installed InfinityXT, but I can't find some of the announced features. Where are they?

InfinityXT is work in progress, following a pre-defined agenda. All versions before the official 1.0 release are known to have missing or disabled features. Some of those features could be planned for a future alpha or beta release, or are just in development at that time. Check InfinityXT's Change Log to check what is available in the current version.
